FAQ

Where is your office located?

My office is located just off of I-70 at the OH-48, Dayton/Englewood exit. The address is:

8801 N. Main St. Suite 202 Dayton, OH 45415

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes in length. Longer sessions may be available upon request.

EMDR treatment sessions can range from 50-90 minutes, depending on individual needs.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance for several reasons. By not working with managed care, it allows us to control your therapy without approvals, it avoids unnecessary limits of what is covered, and it does not require a diagnosis that stays on your record for life. It also safeguards your information and protects your confidentiality.

If your plan allows an “Out-of-Network Provider,” I can provide you with a monthly statement called a Superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

You may call me directly at (209) 226-5391 and leave a message. Or you may complete the form below. I will get back to you within 24 hours, Monday-Friday.

If you’d like, we can then schedule an appointment right away. Or we can schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation.

What is a free initial phone consultation?

This is something I offer that gives us a brief time to connect. I have found it to be helpful when people are not certain about scheduling an appointment right away.

It’s very informal, and it lasts 15 minutes. It gives you the opportunity to tell me a little bit about yourself and what’s going on in your life. I also will answer any questions you have for me, as well as ask you a few of my own.

After talking, if you feel comfortable and think that we are a good fit, we’ll set up your first appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?
As a courtesy, please allow 24 hours prior to your session time for a cancellation. If you miss an appointment or cancel within the 24 hours, you will be charged the full session fee.
Are you a Christian therapist? What if I’m not a Christian?

I am a therapist who happens to be a Christian. At your request, I will offer Christian counseling during the therapy process.

However, it is unethical for me to introduce my faith into therapy unless you specifically ask me to do so. No need to worry that I will thump you over the head with my beliefs or shove them down your throat!

People of all religions are accepted; and I want all persons to feel welcomed, respected, and cared for when they walk through my doors.

I have worked with many clients who know I am a Christian, but they are not, including atheists. They would tell you at no time did they ever feel like I was judging them or looking down on them.

What is your educational background?

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University, a Master’s degree in clinical psychology from California Southern University, and an Ohio independent license in marriage and family therapy.

I am an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist to specialize in the treatment of trauma and PTSD.
